Instructions for C-SNAP Registration
Welcome to C-SNAP, your on-line source for patient eligibility and claims status
information. Registration only takes moments to complete. Just follow these 5 easy steps.
Step 1 - Registrant Information
Enter personal contact information: your billing NPI, first and last name,
e-mail address, and telephone number. You must also choose a User Login ID that uniquely
identifies your account each time you log in. If you wish to apply for immediate access
to C-SNAP, you may enter a TAX ID number that will expedite Step 4 below.
Step 2 - Location Access
In order to gain access to patient eligibility and claims status data, you must identify the
locations of the NPI you will require access to using their TAX ID
numbers. These location access requests will be immediately forwarded for approval.
After completing the registration process, additional TAX ID's can be added using
Update My Account.
Step 3 - Immediate Access
If you choose to continue, you will gain immediate access to non-secure C-SNAP
information including Secured Messaging and additional Medicare web sites. If you bypass
immediate access, a password will be mailed to the address on file for the NPI you are registering with.
Step 4 - Verification
Verification is accomplished using a Remittance Notice with an issue date 14-90 days
prior to today. If a TAX ID number was previously entered, then data from just one
Remittance Notice is needed. Otherwise, data from two separate Remittance Notices
will be required.
Step 5 - Password Creation
After passing verification, you will create a personal password for your account.
Subsequent access to C-SNAP is provided when you login with both your User Login ID and
your personal password.
Browser Requirements
128-bit Encryption
Government regulations require C-SNAP to use 128-bit encryption to safeguard the private information in this site. In order
to access the secure portions of this site, you must use a browser that supports 128-bit encryption and has cookies enabled. Strong
encryption protects the privacy and security of your account information.
If you need to upgrade your browser to one that offers strong encryption, use the
links below.
Session Time-outs
The C-SNAP site is set up to automatically log out users after 15 minutes of account
inactivity. This is a security measure designed to protect your account information
while still giving you enough time to complete transactions. Even clicking a link
qualifies as account activity.
